Sea wind turbines ... But how do we get the energy back?

    nyt-time

This article examines project ‘Hywind‘— the installation of open sea wind turbines as a means to create ‘green’ energy. Along with the idea of wind turbines over freeways in order to generate wind speed with each passing car, this is a novel approach to mitigating our environmental footprint.

But nowhere in the articles does it say how we are supposed to harness the energy once these wind turbines are placed at sea.

A local Seattle company, Principle Power, hopes to have prototypes for testing off the coasts of Oregon and Maine in the next few years. This could be a neat project to follow up on an see if the blanks can be filled in with due time.
